The Cambridge Women's Center offers a wide variety of programs, groups and workshops to meet the varied needs of women in Greater Boston. Our programming assists women in healing from traumatic experiences, offers opportunities for women to support each other, and develops new skills and leadership abilities among the women in our community. We strive to meet the intersecting needs of a broad constituency of women, providing support throughout the healing process and at every stage of life. Our goal is to contribute to the empowerment of women and the creation of a just society.

We offer a Drop-In Program and Telephone Helpline 55 hours a week (Monday through Friday from 10 am to 8 pm, and Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm). Our Drop-In Program provides a safe space where vulnerable women can access a wide variety of resources to help them improve their lives, including:
  • material assistance (free food and clothing, free computer access, and a safe daytime refuge),
  • informational resources (education and referrals for health, housing, employment, legal and other services), and
  • emotional support (a space for women to share their stories and find community).
Women are welcome to cook for themselves and enjoy a pre-made snack from our kitchen, use our Computer Labs for as long as they want, sit and read in our library or garden, or simply enjoy the company of other women in our caring community. Volunteers are always on hand to provide resource information for women seeking emergency services or other support, and get help filling out applications for housing, jobs, healthcare and other basic needs.

Women can call our Helpline for resource information and emotional support, (617) 354-8807, weekdays from 10-8 and Saturdays from 10-3 .

The Women's Center also offers a wide variety of groups and workshops ranging from trauma support groups to yoga to sewing to creative arts and crafts. Click here for details about our current groups.
